Course Details & Benefits:
According to the MA Board of Building Regulation and Standards (BBRS), a MA Construction Supervisor License is required for the following:
- One & Two Family homes and/or appurtentant structures of any size
- For most existing 1-to-4 family owner occupied homes
- For buildings less than 35,000 cubic ft. of enclosed space
For buildings greater than 35,000 cubic ft. of enclosed space, a Registered Design Professional (RDP), or engineer/architect, must control the construction. For this reason, a MA Construction Supervisor License is not required for buildings greater than 35,000 cubic ft. since the RDP is considered the licensed professional.
Massachusetts does NOT recognize out-of-state contractor licenses.

This course is broken down into video modules. Each video module has been pre-recorded, and covers a small section from the materials listed above where we explain what the material means and why it's important. These modules are short; anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes. This is intentional. When doing our research in preparation for developing this course, we found that simply reading the material was a good way to put you to sleep, if not bore you to death. Most people don't have time to sit in front of a computer and listen to a person read.
So instead, we provide a high-level overview of each section, then suggest you spend a minimum of an hour reviewing each section so you are familiar with what is covered, and how to find it. You do not need to memorize the material; that would be impossible. Your familiarity on where to find things within the materials is your pathway to success.
The beauty behind this method is it allows you to easily and quickly, review the course material multiple times if you feel you need additional preparation. We also provide you with practice quizzes for each module. These quizzes are not examples of the exact test question you will see, but a way for you to gauge your understanding of how to find the material within that section.
At the end of each module, we provide quiz questions, and at the end of the course is a 75 question "final quiz" that you can use as an additional tool as you prepare for your exam. In all, this course gives you over 375 practice questions to set you up for success!
This course approach was developed by our instructor with over 40 years of field experience, and has been a course instructor for 20 years. To learn more about our instructor, please view the "About Our Instructor" details below.

*The International Code Council recently uncovered a counterfeit operation producing and distributing unauthorized ICC code books within the U.S. This situation poses a significant risk to the integrity of building standards, public safety, and our collective businesses. To address this, the ICC has taken decisive legal actions, including securing a temporary restraining order and filing for preliminary injunction to halt these illicit activities. While we have no control over wrong books being distributed, our ICC code book distributor purchases directly from the ICC to help us ensure we offer authentic publications to our customers.
Due to a supply chain issue resulting from counterfeit books in the pipeline, there has been a price increase due to supply and demand, as well as inflation. Please understand that we, At Leisure Contractor Licensing, do all we can to offer competitive pricing on ICC publications.
