This online training is designed to teach supervisors of drivers holding a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) how to identify circumstances that indicate there is reasonable suspicion that a driver may be using alcohol or drugs, and how to handle the situation properly.
Our 120-minute online course provides supervisors with training to meet the Reasonable Suspicion DOT Supervisor Training requirements of 49 CFR 382.603.
One of the more difficult aspects of supervision lies in the hiring, discipline, advancement and termination of other employees under your care. In the case of those who supervise drivers and others in safety-sensitive jobs, acting or failing to act when it comes to potential alcohol/drug use will likely also influence the lives of everyone else in society, who must share the road with drivers whose abilities might be impaired by substance abuse. It is critical that supervisors act to lessen or remove the danger to others, no matter how unpleasant the assigned responsibility. This course will explore how to carry out that duty professionally when abuse is encountered, as well as how to identify behaviors and symptoms that form the basis for reasonable suspicion.
