A Mass. CSL license is a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License. It is a state-issued license that is required for anyone who supervises persons engaged in construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, removal or demolition of certain limited types of buildings. 

With a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL), you can legally supervise persons engaged in construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, removal, or demolition of certain limited types of buildings. 

There are three main categories of Construction Supervisor License:

  • Unrestricted
  • Restricted (One- and Two-Family Dwellings)
  • Specialty (Masonry, Roof Covering, Window and Siding, Solid Fuel Burning Appliance, Demolition, and Insulation)

A Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License expires every two years on the license holder's birthday. In order to renew their license, construction supervisors must complete the required continuing education and submit a renewal application. 

There are two types of Mass CSL courses offered: Continuing Education courses (held two times per month or online) and Exam Prep courses (online for 24/7 access).

 

Mass CSL Continuing Education

In Massachusetts, CSL (Construction Supervisor License) holders are required to complete continuing education during every two-year renewal cycle. A maximum of six hours may be taken online. The remainder must be taken in an in-person classroom setting.
