Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting VFDs, soft starts, motor starters and safety circuits

  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with potential stressful situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, and have a positive demeanor
  • Moving equipment such as forklifts, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility

Responsibilities

  • The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial manufacturing setting
  • Shift: Must be able to work wither a 3rd shift or a 2nd shift
  • Training- The first 90 days of training is on 1st shift
  • Analyze and solve problems effectively, read blueprints and schematics and use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install electrical parts
  • Troubleshoot, program, and maintain Allen Bradley PLCs using ladder logic code
  • Experience with relay based control systems troubleshooting and repairs
  • Plan layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels, using hand tools and power tools, according to specifications
  • Applies knowledge of OSHA procedures, particularly Lockout Tag-out and electrical testing
  • Performs routine electrical maintenance on equipment and determines what maintenance plan is required to resolve issue
  • Maintain various PLC programs related to industrial equipment

  • Follow the CertainTeed Health and Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within the facility and provide key leadership to support the EHS initiatives
  • Proper use of PPE at all times
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with the 5S philosophy
  • Facilitate and/or participate in safety training and safety committee meetings
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement processes to better serve customers and improve the overall profitability of CertainTeed
  • Actively promote Saint-Gobain’s EHS objectives
  • Make suggestions for improving product quality, processes, safety and company profitability
