Job Details Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead structural design
• Train, coach or mentor members of the project team
• Coordinate and communicate with Architects/Designers, Truss Manufacturers, MEP Trades, General Contractors and Field Project Managers
• Perform structural analysis of frame and masonry building components including foundations, wall and roof structures, evaluating loading cases
• Support in the development of construction drawings and specifications
• Prepares reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for project.
• Attends meetings with coordinating parties to resolve structural complexities
• Manage project schedules
• Researches/Reviews code and permitting requirements for project sites.
Competencies
• Must already have or can obtain a FL P.E. license within 3 months of employment
• 4 -8 years’ experience related to structural/residential engineering work
• Motivated to develop engineering leaders and evolve the engineering profession
• Knowledge of building codes and standards such as IBC, ASC, AISC and ACI
• Ability to communicate with all levels of professionals
• Committed to providing exceptional client service and technical excellence
• Experience with multiple structural design software
• General knowledge of the construction industry
• Working knowledge/experience with CAD drafting programs as well as structural design software and advanced Excel
• Strong verbal, written and communication skills
