Qualifications
- Valid 2A/1C certification
- Minimum one year of experience with heavy construction equipment and trucks, or three years performing maintenance on heavy equipment
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electronics, and Department of Transportation regulations
- Valid driver’s license and ability to bring tools to the job site
- References to verify professional skills and experience
- Ability to occasionally lift and move more than 50 pounds and remain stationary for extended periods
- Possess a valid 2A/1C certification

- The hourly rate for this position is \(33 - \)33 / hour, which is based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law
Responsibilities
- Operators will handle heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, graders, dozers, and excavators for the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, airports, gas and oil pipelines, tunnels, buildings, and more

- Work outdoors in appropriate safety and protective equipment
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment safely via hand signals, radio communication, and using occupant safety devices
- Perform pre-operational checks and basic maintenance on equipment
- Complete and maintain equipment log sheets and reports
- Assess job site conditions and select appropriate attachments for the work
- Acquire knowledge of earthmoving fundamentals and relevant health and safety regulations
- Continually learn about new techniques and equipment to maintain productivity
