OVERVIEW:
Provide electrical support for the site electrical system. This role has wide ranging responsibilities from Medium voltage power to HVAC controls. Primary responsibilities will include Central Utility Plant electrical support (power, boilers. Chillers, and controls, UPS systems), Lighting system controls, and electrical power owner for the laboratory buildings. This will also be the back-up role for site electric and provide controls support for VFD’s and other instrumentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participate in the efficient operations and maintenance of all building systems
Maintain operation of electrical and mechanical equipment supporting the facility and facility’s critical operations
Demonstrated expertise low, medium and high voltage systems operation.
Check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective action required.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks as required.
Coordinate with third-party vendors to perform work and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
Fully implement all standard operating systems and practices
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma Minimum 5 years of experience working with low, medium and high voltage electricity. Experience with uninterruptible power systems, emergency power systems, energy management systems, HVAC controls, fire alarm systems, and electrical systems engineering and operation
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES Journeyman Electrician Multi-licensed candidates preferred, especially wastewater operator
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to read HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural blueprints. Ability to use Windows based computers
