Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to Architects, OPM’s, vendors, government officials, and clients
  • Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the jobsite
  • Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
  • Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and on uneven ground
  • Capacity to physically lift up to 100 lbs
  • Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License
  • 10+ years of previous experience as a Construction Superintendent on projects in value of at least $15 Million
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Must be knowledgeable of Massachusetts State Codes and Regulations
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of subcontractors and workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
  • Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors and vendors to complete each project on time
  • Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project
  • Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job duties effectively and efficiently
  • Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site
  • Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
  • Implement safety and quality guidelines
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
  • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
  • Keep track of material stock and orders
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly by setting an example in keeping the job site organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
