Qualifications

  • Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
  • Valid Massachusetts CSL (construction supervisor license) is required
  • Valid driver license is required
  • Other licenses as required by state and federal law
  • Construction Supervisor License (CSL), knowledge of building codes and town regulations for construction
  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable field experience with project estimating or design-build work
  • A minimum of 5 years prior construction experience is required
  • Strong project estimating background with working knowledge of construction
  • Negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong estimation background, with working knowledge of construction
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English and communicate effectively
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, clients and subcontractors
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, internet navigation, online ordering and emails
  • Strong customer service skills, with internal and external clients
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform well under deadlines
  • Organizational skills
  • Flexible schedule- ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior coursework in the construction industry consistent with obtaining a Construction Supervisor License (CSL)

Responsibilities

  • Job Summary: Oversee the daily operations on the construction sites
  • Successful management of construction projects from proposal to completion
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships, supervise the subcontractors
  • Maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors
  • Manage project materials and project budget
  • Accurately prepare bids by utilizing field collected data and standard computer software
  • Line out subcontractors and communicate project specifications and project timelines
  • Negotiate cost of labor with subcontractors
  • Read and interpret construction plans/drawings
  • Acquire permits as needed
  • Visit jobs in progress, review questions or problems that may arise, resolve all project issues that arise in a timely manner, and communicate the issues to the owner
  • Add and update project information in CRM software
  • Order materials and equipment
  • Schedule pickups and delivery
  • Submit requests for purchase orders
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors insuring accountability and quality
  • Communicate project statuses and pertinent information to clients and keep them informed throughout the project lifecycle
  • Schedule inspections and prepare documentation related to inspections
  • Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures
  • Prevent fine and work interruptions by inspecting projects at critical phases and enforcing building codes
  • Follow screening protocols in hiring subcontractors including collection of required documentation
  • Work closely with architects, building inspection personnel, and city officials
  • Always ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Always adhere to all company policies, procedures
  • and best practices
