ThyssenKrupp Elevator is currently seeking a Construction Superintendent/Project Management Trainee to join our world class installation, modernization, service and repair team in Boston, MA This position will work under the close supervision of an experienced Operations Leader in actively managing field projects, while receiving hands on training in all facets of leading an effective operation. Trainees must successfully complete the 6 month training program and be available for relocation within the geographic region at the conclusion of the training program. Our training program helps develop professional individuals that advance into leadership positions that effectively manage our business, interact with internal and external customers, and build successful teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operationally manage jobs to ensure employee safety, work quality, timeliness, and cost containment
- Proactively support a safe working environment for all employees by leading safety training and audits
- Provide technical input to sales staff on the scope of work and materials needed for jobs
- Review customer contracts for terms and conditions and complete additional forms and paperwork as required
- Review new and existing jobs for profitability
- Enter information on new job costs into the database and complete financial information on uncompleted jobs
- Close out jobs, ensuring all costs have been applied to closed jobs
- Order parts and materials for jobs
- Perform job site audits and quality control activities
- Assist mechanics with jobs when necessary by providing on-the-job site instruction
- Occasionally assist with the loading and unloading of equipment at job sites
- Assist with inventorying equipment
- Complete required periodic reports
- Train, evaluate and motivate staff and effectively mediate conflicts
- Establish and strengthen business relationships with owners, property managers, building engineers, general contractors and union business agents
- Perform other duties as assigned
