Qualifications
- This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Superintendent with strong public construction experience, excellent field leadership skills, and the ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, quality control, safety, and project documentation from the job site
- Because of the project location, candidates should be comfortable working on the Outer Cape and able to reliably commute to Truro for the duration of the project
- Strong understanding of construction operations, sequencing, scheduling, and field coordination
- Experience managing subcontractors and field teams on commercial, institutional, municipal, or public construction projects
- Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction drawings, specifications, safety requirements, procedures, and technical documents
- Strong written communication skills, including daily reports, project correspondence, field documentation, and communication with architects, OPMs, vendors, public officials, and clients
- Strong verbal communication skills, especially when interacting with owners, clients, inspectors, public officials, and job site visitors
- Ability to identify non-compliant work, quality issues, safety concerns, and coordination conflicts, and to recommend practical solutions
- Working knowledge of software programs such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to stand, walk the job site, climb stairs or ladders as needed, and work in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent
- Prior experience on projects valued at $15 million or more
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Knowledge of Massachusetts State Building Code, public construction requirements, and applicable regulations
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation to Truro, Massachusetts

- Pay: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day field operations of the project, including:
- Managing subcontractors, field personnel, work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation
- Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, vendors, and project team members to keep the project on schedule
- Monitoring work in place and materials delivered to ensure compliance with project documents, quality standards, and applicable codes
- Communicating regularly with the project manager, subcontractors, architect, OPM, inspectors, vendors, and owner representatives
- Maintaining a complete daily log of visitors, manpower, work performed, deliveries, materials used, inspections, issues, and resolutions
- Identifying and resolving field issues, conflicts, and coordination challenges in a timely and professional manner
- Planning, coordinating, and participating in required inspections
- Assisting with permitting, local authority coordination, and code compliance as needed
- Implementing and enforcing project safety requirements and quality-control procedures
- Coordinating delivery, use, storage, and maintenance of materials and equipment
- Monitoring material stock, deliveries, and project site logistics
- Maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and professional job site
- Ensuring compliance with waste disposal, environmental protection, and site safety requirements
- Responding to on-site issues and emergencies as needed
