Qualifications
- Experience operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other construction equipment
- Strong knowledge of excavation, site work, drainage, and construction operations
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying site conditions
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety procedures
- Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

- The Heavy Equipment Operator / Working Foreman is responsible for operating excavation equipment while overseeing daily jobsite operations and crew activities, maintaining jobsite safety and productivity, and ensuring projects are completed according to company standards
- This role works directly with the Owner/Operator and serves as the lead field representative when the Owner/Operator is unavailable
- Operate excavators, skid steers, compact equipment, and related attachments safely and efficiently
- Supervise daily jobsite operations and maintain project workflow
- Lead and direct excavation laborers and subcontractors while actively participating in field operations
- Serve as the primary on-site supervisor when the Owner/Operator is unavailable
- Coordinate daily tasks, schedules, and project priorities with crews and subcontractors
- Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards
- Maintain safe, organized, and productive jobsites at all times
- Monitor job progress and communicate updates, concerns, or delays to management
- Assist with excavation, grading, drainage, utility, and hardscape work as needed
- Verify materials, equipment, and deliveries are properly organized and available for project needs
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance requirements
- Provide on-site guidance, training, and support to excavation laborers and crew members
- Maintain working knowledge of excavation procedures, project specifications, permitting requirements, utility regulations, and safety standards
- Troubleshoot site issues and assist in developing field solutions
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of assigned equipment and report repair needs
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with clients, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors
