Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, excavators, Dozers, lulls, and forklifts for civil and site work, material handling on municipal, commercial, industrial, or federal projects
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an MVR that meets company standards
  • Must possess required licenses, preferable 2A or more Mass Hydraulics License
  • Must have an OSHA 10 certificate
  • Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles on an active construction site
  • Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
  • Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance and stoop, reach on a regular basis
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential support to our water and wastewater construction sites
  • This position is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates
  • Inspect and operate equipment and all attachments
  • Attend and participate in daily activity plans and safety meetings
  • Knowledge of rigging and rigging methods
  • Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Perform daily equipment upkeep tasks and maintenance
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Perform occasional typical laborer activities
  • Ability to set and follow grades
  • Provide other support as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
  • Methuen Construction has jobs throughout New England, and travel may be required, with occasional out of state and overnight travel
