Qualifications
- Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designeeMust possess any and all licenses required by the Mass
- of Public Safety to operate any special heavy motor equipment, including a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and a Hoisting License
- BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
- Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift, in any assigned location
- Must have the ability to exercise good judgment and be able to focus on detail as required by the job
Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, operates and has responsibility for one of a wide variety of special heavy motor equipment requiring a Commercial Driver's License & a Hoisting License and/or requiring unusual skill
- May be responsible for the maintenance and care of a small number of pieces of equipment
- Responsible for the maintenance, security, and operation of assigned specialty vehicles
- Loads and unloads trucks; picks up and hauls material
- Complete required forms and reports
- Responds to and handles Constituent Relationship Management (CMR) cases
- May use mobile technology to communicate with supervisors and inspectors regarding Constituent Relationship Management (CMR) cases
- Supports other Public Works Divisions as requested
- Performs related work as required
