Qualifications
•Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand/walk up to 10 hours
•Be able to pass a necessary physical and pre-employment drug screen
•Be willing to work overtime as needed
•Handle drums, super sacks, and bags of abrasive grain through various methods: manually, with powered lift devices, with motorized pallet jacks and with fork trucks
•Have basic computer skills and have the ability to perform basic math calculations
•Have excellent fork truck skills
•Have reliable transportation
•Have the ability to do PMs and perform basic repairs on equipment as needed
•Have the ability to use basic hand tools, i.e. wrenches, screw drivers, mallets
•Have the ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing production demands
•Understand quality requirements and communicate with supervision to alert as needed
•Use / maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)
•Possess a Massachusetts Hoisting License for either 2A, 2B or 2C to operate a front end loader
•Required Education High School
Responsibilities
•The Heavy Equipment Operator will work with and directly report to the plant's Production Foreman
•The Operator will be directly involved in the monitoring and operation of several pieces of crushing and grading equipment
•This position will work with various sizes of abrasive grain and put those grains into containers for customer shipments or store in one of several warehouse locations throughout the plant
•The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for working harmoniously and safely within a team environment
•Be willing to work safely and efficiently while meeting daily production targets
•Check equipment for worn parts, replace parts as needed and fill out log
•Clean the work platforms and catwalks each shift
•Come to work on time and demonstrate overall good attendance and availability to work
•Conduct chain hoist inspection, final inspection of Pits and Tunnel
•Conduct housekeeping throughout shift
•Dump Mag Tails into 55-gallon drum
•Fill, transport, palletize, stack, and organize drums, super sacks and bags of abrasive grain
•Log start/stop of Vibrating Feeder to #2 Conveyor
•Perform basic housekeeping tasks autonomously
