Qualifications
•Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents
•Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction field
•Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, production methods and coordination of people and resources
•Knowledge of relevant machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, work well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
•Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems
•Educat ion and Experience
•At least 5 years of experience in as a Superintendent in the Construction industry
•MA Construction Supervisors License required
Responsibilities
•The Superintendent in collaboration Project Management is responsible for managing on-site construction
•The role will also ensure compliance with safety regulations is met at all-times and participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversees its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and iplementation
•Provides the supervision and direction required for team and subcontractors to understand and carry out their responsibilities
•Leads the subcontractor pre-construction, weekly and ad hoc meetings required to support and inform work activity
•Participates in scripting formal project execution plans that incorporate goals and objectives and risk mitigation
•Maintains excellent working relationships with project-related building and fire inspectors and other regulatory authorities associated with approving work and issuing Certificates of Occupancy
•Oversees Mobilization and Demobilization
•Fosters a safe and productive work environment
•Develops and maintains a site logistics plan for office and sanitary facilities, temporary utilities, security and lighting systems, fencing and gates, vehicle circulation and parking provisions, environmental protection installations, material staging, waste and recycling locations, safety systems and signage, and project signage
•In conjunction with Safety department enforces controlled access, housekeeping, hazardous materials handling, and waste management programs
•Oversees compliance with” zero incidence” safety plans comprised of OSHA-compliant general and project-specific safety regulations
•Conducts daily safety inspections and assures that non-compliant behaviors and practices are resolved with immediacy
•Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with OSHA inspectors
•Schedule Management
•Secures subcontractor and supplier delivery schedules and provides work sequence recommendations to support development of the master schedule
•Develops and distributes weekly 3-week look-ahead schedules based on past and expected performance using Microsoft Project
•Assures on-time delivery through logical work sequencing and tactical manpower and material resource management
•QA/QC Program Management
•Conducts daily work inspections and requires rework as necessary
•Oversees mock-ups, material testing and other quality assurance procedures
•Coordinates the continual and final punch list process
•Co-leads commissioning in cooperation with the Project Manager, Owner, Facilities Manager, and equipment suppliers and installers
