"@-Leisure" Contractor Licensing was the first in MA to offer online continuing education for hoisting engineers. Click here to view our certificate of approval.

When it comes to Massachusetts Hoisting Continuing Education, operators have many options... but not all providers offer the same level of professionalism, support, or industry experience. Some online providers operate with minimal customer support and limited accessibility, which can become frustrating when technical assistance is needed.

"@-Leisure" was the first company in Massachusetts to offer online continuing education for hoisting engineers and remains committed to providing a reliable, professional, and user-friendly experience. Our longstanding reputation for quality and customer service is one of the reasons we are the Preferred Vendor of the American Rental Association of Massachusetts.

Submitting your renewal through the state’s website can often be time-consuming and confusing. To simplify the process, we developed our own user-friendly Electronic Renewal Submission system that guides you through each step and handles the details for you.

We are proud to be the only Massachusetts Hoisting Continuing Education provider offering this added convenience to our customers.

Please note: after submission, it may take up to 3–7 business days for the state to initiate the renewal process.

Massachusetts Hoisting License holders are required to maintain a current D.O.T. Medical Card, a service that often costs between $125–$150. Through our partnerships with providers across Massachusetts, "@-Leisure" customers can receive their D.O.T. Medical Exam for just $85.

Appointments can be conveniently scheduled directly through our website, with multiple locations available throughout the state.

Best of all, this benefit never expires. Even if your D.O.T. Medical Card is not due for renewal anytime soon, you will still be eligible to take advantage of this discounted rate simply for being an "@-Leisure" customer.

Upon completion of the course, your certificate is immediately available for download. Certificates are provided in a format electronically accepted by the state, and may also be printed for your records.

For added convenience, you may also choose to have your renewal submitted electronically through our system.

Unlike some continuing education providers, we do not require a final exam to complete the course. Our goal is to provide a straightforward, stress-free learning experience that makes renewing your license as simple and convenient as possible.

Our website was designed with one priority in mind: ease of use. Rather than relying on a generic third-party course platform, we developed a custom-built system designed specifically to provide a smooth, intuitive, and user-friendly experience for our customers.

Don’t have time to complete your course in one sitting? No problem. Our automatic “bookmark” feature saves your progress down to the exact point where you left off, allowing you to simply click “Resume” and continue whenever it’s convenient for you.

Access your account and complete your course from any internet-enabled device... anytime, anywhere.

Some continuing education providers limit course access to just 30 days. When you enroll in one of our continuing education courses, you receive a full 120 days of access, giving you more than enough time to complete your training at your own pace.

If you need additional time, we’re here to help - at no cost to you. Our dedicated customer support team is committed to providing a smooth, flexible, and positive experience from start to finish.

Hoisting license renewals can easily sneak up on you, often resulting in a last-minute rush to complete your continuing education requirements. That’s why we offer free license management tools with every account.

Simply enter your license expiration date and select when you would like to receive reminders. Our system will automatically notify you when your renewal deadline is approaching, helping you stay ahead and avoid unnecessary stress.

Choose to receive notifications by email, text message, or both.

You don’t need to be a computer expert to use our platform. Our entire website was designed with one priority in mind: ease of use. From registration to course completion, we strive to make every step simple and straightforward.

If you ever need assistance, our support team is only a phone call or email away. We take pride in providing responsive, knowledgeable customer service, and consistently receive positive feedback from our customers for the support we provide.

Our courses are not timestamped, allowing you to complete your training at a comfortable pace without unnecessary pressure.

We’re confident you’ll be satisfied with the experience, but if not, you may request a full refund anytime prior to course completion.

Recent changes to Massachusetts Hoisting Continuing Education requirements were announced in November 2025. Now, the requirements for the 4B license is two hours of continuing education:

  • one hour of regulatory training, and
  • one hour of equipment specific training

If you hold multiple license grades, you only need to complete the one hour of regulatory training one time. You still need to complete one hour of equipment specific training for each grade you hold.

For example, if you hold a 4B & 2A license, you will need to complete 3 hours of continuing education:

  • one hour of regulatory training
  • one hour of equipment specific for 4B
  • one hour of equipment specific for 2A

Our custom built system adjusts to make sure you're not repeating the regulatory requirement or taking more than the minimum number of required hours.

The minimum topics and texts included as part of the continuing education curriculum for the 4B License shall include but may not be limited to:
a. M.G.L. c. 146;
b. 230 CMR 6.00;
c. 520 CMR 14.00: Excavation and Trench Safety;
d. OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1926;
e. OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910;
f. ANSI B30;
g. M.G.L. c. 82, § 40;
h. M.G.L. c. 82A;
i. M.G.L. c. 164, § 76D.
j. 220 CMR 99.00: Procedures for the Determination and Enforcement of Violations of MGL c. 82 §§ 40 through 40E ("Dig Safe")

Your continuing education credits may be completed at any time. The only restriction is when you are allowed to submit your certificate of completion to the state for renewal. About 30-45 days prior to your license expiration date, the state will send you a renewal form. At this time, you may submit your continuing education certificate to the state for renewal.

  • If you have misplaced your renewal form, or you are within the 30 day window and have not received it from the state, you may request a new one HERE.
  • If your license has expired, you have a year grace period in which you may renew your license without penalty. In this time, your license is considered expired and cannot be used until renewed. After the year grace period, you will need to retake the state exam to get your license back.
  • There are two ways to submit to the state; electronically or via standard mail. Your renewal form will have instructions on how to do both.
