Changes to Hot Work Certification: Massachusetts

Effective January 2025, hot work certifications are only valid for three years. This means any person required to take hot work training must repeat training at least once every three years.

What if I completed hot work safety training prior to January 2025?

If you completed your hot work training prior to January 2025, your certificate will expire three years from the issuance date. You must complete training again prior to reaching that expiration date.

What if I completed training prior to January 2022?

If you last completed hot work safety training in, or prior to, early 2022 (over three years ago), your certification is already expired and you should take a training course again as soon as possible. Once you receive a new certificate of completion, you will be covered for three years from issuance date.
