Qualifications

•Palm Beach County is seeking a Senior Professional Engineer to manage the Right-of-Way Permit Section of the Traffic Division

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; minimum of five years (5) years of experience in civil or related engineering work including one (1) year in the supervisory aspects of the work

•Equivalency : Related Master’s Degree and four (4) years of related experience including one (1) year in the supervisory aspects of the work

•Necessary Special Requirement : Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida OR licensed as a P.E. in another state and ability to obtain State of Florida P.E. licensure within 11 months of hire

•PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN : Site plan, right-of-way, utility permit, and/or construction plan review

 

Responsibilities

•Responsible for planning, coordinating and approving the work of professional and technical staff, depending on area of assignment

•Assists general public and project agents with interpretations of the Right-of-Way Permitting Ordinance

•Coordinates with Land Development staff for comprehensive review of all right-of-way and utility permits

•Monitors monthly reports for projects’ compliance

•Attends meetings on behalf of Division concerning review of right-of-way and utility permits

•Attends meetings with general public and agents doing preliminary work for right-of-way and utility permits and provides preliminary feedback

•Reviews and assists subordinates with review of right-of-way and utility plans

•Prepares and assists subordinates with preparation of comment letters, other correspondences and approvals for right-of-way and utility permits

•Responsible for coordination of permit reviews among several review agencies

•Work is reviewed for general adherence to established norms

 

Benefits

•Salary Range: $89,098 to $154,889 Annually, depending on qualifications
