Qualifications •Knowledge of the operation uses and limitations, and care and maintenance of motor trucks •Working knowledge of state traffic laws, regulations and safety precautions pertaining to the operation of motor trucks •Ability to detect mechanical defects and make minor repairs •Skilled in performing related common labor duties requiring physical stamina •Knowledge of Landscaping duties and all Landscaping equipment •Ability to work in adverse weather conditions •Candidates must be able to read, write and otherwise communicate in English •A criminal background check will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired
Responsibilities •The Motor Truck Driver operates trucks of various sizes in the delivery, collection and transporting of materials and waste; services trucks and makes minor repairs and performs related work as required •Operates motor dump truck for the collection and disposal of refuse and for hauling construction material and delivers them as directed •Drives tractor and power-driven equipment used in care and maintenance of institution of building and grounds •Services truck with oil and gas and clean exterior and interior •Makes minor repairs to truck and prepares truck for winter and summer operation •Assist in road construction repair work and assigned manual labor tasks •Perform grounds tasks such as mowing lawns, pruning trees, trimming shrubs and planting flowers, Seed, fertilizer and sprays lawns and flowers and shrubs •Rakes leaves, cleans roadways, parking lots, walks, gutters, drains and catch basins •Makes repairs to sidewalks and roadways •Operates snowplow and sander in conjunction with motor truck •Shovels snow and/or use snow blower •Capacity to load and unload heavy materials from trucks
