Qualifications
- High school diploma, or the equivalent in experience, and a minimum of and two (2) years of advanced technical/vocational training and experience in the operation of heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Class B CDL driver’s license paid for by the town provided the candidate agrees to at least 3 years of employment
- Hoisting Engineer’s 2B, 4E and 4G licenses
- A valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate or willing to obtain upon hire
- Safe and effective heavy equipment operation techniques and practices

- This position is represented by a collective bargaining unit and is 40-hours per week, typically, Monday - Friday
- Salary: $27.69 per hour (with CDL), $25.18 (without CDL) with annual performance-based step increases and cost-of-living (COLA); Cohasset offers a comprehensive benefits package
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Highway Foreman and serving as part of an integrated Public Works operation, the Highway HEO will perform skilled manual work in operating heavy equipment used in constructing, maintaining, and repairing public works’ facilities and public spaces/roadways
- Work includes the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment and vehicles
