Responsibilities •The mechanic diagnoses failures in equipment; troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate repairs; repair heavy and light trucks and automobiles; repair drilling machines, air motors, and other equipment; performs routine preventive maintenance and inspections of trucks and equipment, including checking brakes, suspensions, and steering components; change oil and check fluid and grease equipment; respond to equipment breakdowns and conduct field repairs •Operate heavy equipment and trucks; use hand, pneumatic and power tools; lift transmissions, truck tires, and other truck parts

Job description
• The Town of Brookline Public Works Department is seeking a skilled Heavy Motor Equipment Mechanic to join our Water & Sewer Division team.
• The mechanic diagnoses failures in equipment; troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate repairs; repair heavy and light trucks and automobiles; repair drilling machines, air motors, and other equipment; performs routine preventive maintenance and inspections of trucks and equipment, including checking brakes, suspensions, and steering components; change oil and check fluid and grease equipment; respond to equipment breakdowns and conduct field repairs.
• Operate heavy equipment and trucks; use hand, pneumatic and power tools; lift transmissions, truck tires, and other truck parts.
• Other work as required.
