Qualifications
- A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
- 3+ years of heavy construction experience, including experience in skilled use of tools, materials, and equipment used in asphalt paving, curb and utility installation or a related field
- Experience with Pavers, Graders, or Milling Machines or a willingness to learn
- Hoisting Engineer's License (1C & 2A) & DOT Medical card or the ability to get one
- Ability to pass background and drug tests, as required by federal and/or state regulations
- Are you a team player, with a positive attitude?
- The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle abstract background check

Responsibilities
- As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll be key to completing big projects like highways, roads, bridges, and airports
- You'll handle tasks like building grades, paving (bituminous concrete), full depth & finish road construction, and curbing, performing each task with precision
- You'll work with top of the line equipment and have the chance to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
- You may operate various equipment including asphalt paver, grader, milling machine vibratory roller, crawler and rubber tire excavator, backhoe, bulldozer, loader, front end loaders, and skid steer
- Peak construction periods are Spring and Fall, with most employees working 40+ hours during these times
- Typical work days begin around 6:30 am and finished by 4:30 pm
- Occasional night, weekend shifts and travel to the islands may be requested
