Qualifications
- 3-5+ years’ experience in site work, excavation, or utility installation
- Proficiency operating heavy equipment
- Experience with layout instruments (lasers, total stations, GPS machine control)
- Ability to read and interpret civil/site drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership and crew management skills
- Knowledge of grading, trenching, pipe installation, and OSHA safety standards
- Valid driver’s license
- OSHA 10
- 2A/1C

Responsibilities
- We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator who can operate all excavation and grading equipment and has the ability to set up and layout site work and utility projects
- This individual will be the lead for excavation, grading , utility layout, while supervising a small crew in the field
- Operate heavy equipment for excavation, grading, and utility installation
- Set up, operate, and maintain layout instruments including rotating lasers, levels, GPS, and total stations
- Read and interpret site plans, construction drawings, and utility profiles
- Establish grade, alignment, and slope for water, sewer, storm, and foundation excavation
- Provide layout control points, offsets, and elevations for crews and subcontractors
- Lead and direct a 2–3 person crew in daily site operations
- Verify accuracy of grades, elevations, and pipe slopes throughout the project
- Communicate effectively with project managers, surveyors, and inspectors
- Maintain accurate field notes and assist with as-built documentation
- Ensure safe work practices, equipment care, and adherence to project schedules
- Daily equipment maintenance.
