Qualifications
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand/walk up to 10 hours
- Be able to pass a necessary physical and pre-employment drug screen
- Be willing to work overtime as needed
- Handle drums, super sacks, and bags of abrasive grain through various methods: manually, with powered lift devices, with motorized pallet jacks and with fork trucks
- Have basic computer skills and have the ability to perform basic math calculations
- Have excellent fork truck skills
- Have reliable transportation
- Have the ability to do PMs and perform basic repairs on equipment as needed
- Have the ability to use basic hand tools, i.e. wrenches, screw drivers, mallets
- Have the ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing production demands
- Understand quality requirements and communicate with supervision to alert as needed
- Use / maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Possess a Massachusetts Hoisting License for either 2A, 2B or 2C to operate a front end loader
- Perform other necessary duties and projects as assigned

Responsibilities
- The Heavy Equipment Operator will work with and directly report to the plant's Production Foreman
- The Operator will be directly involved in the monitoring and operation of several pieces of crushing and grading equipment
- This position will work with various sizes of abrasive grain and put those grains into containers for customer shipments or store in one of several warehouse locations throughout the plant
- The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for working harmoniously and safely within a team environment
- This position is Monday - Thursday from 3:00 pm - 1:00 am with occasional hours required on Fridays
- There is a 90-day probation period for this position
- Be willing to work safely and efficiently while meeting daily production targets
- Check equipment for worn parts, replace parts as needed and fill out log
- Clean the work platforms and catwalks each shift
- Come to work on time and demonstrate overall good attendance and availability to work
- Conduct chain hoist inspection, final inspection of Pits and Tunnel
- Conduct housekeeping throughout shift
- Dump Mag Tails into 55-gallon drum
- Fill, transport, palletize, stack, and organize drums, super sacks and bags of abrasive grain
- Have the ability to troubleshoot processes in order to detect and fix quality issues
- Inspect equipment for proper operation, mechanical deficiencies, holes, breakdowns, lubrication needs etc
- Log start/stop of Vibrating Feeder to #2 Conveyor
- Perform basic housekeeping tasks autonomously
