Qualifications

  • MA Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement
  • MA Hoisting License (DPS 2A, 4E, 4G) to operate loaders, backhoes, catch basin cleaners, etc
  • Ability to work overtime and respond to emergencies
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions, including wastewater exposure
  • HS diploma/equivalent
  • Ability to pass background check, physical & drug test

  • Hours: 7:00–3:00 (winter) / 6:30–2:30 (summer)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver top-notch service to the Franklin community
  • Operate heavy equipment: loaders, backhoes, excavators, tractors, Class B trucks w/ plows & sanders, sweepers, rollers, mowers, compressors, etc
  • Assist with laying pipes, repairing sidewalks, building structures, and maintaining roads
  • Maintain athletic fields (mowing, lining, seeding, aerating)
  • Plow, shovel, and sand roads, sidewalks & town properties
  • Perform hands-on labor as part of a hard-working DPW crew
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance and follow all safety procedures
  • Complete required reports and documentation
