Qualifications
- Knowledge of principles of operation and servicing of trucks and related automotive equipment
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary in the operation of trucks and special automotive equipment
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Physical strength and agility sufficient to do strenuous laboring tasks under varying weather conditions
- Licenses required are Class B, CDL and DOT medical card
- Hoisting Engineer 2A endorsement minimal

- Salary Range - $28.58 (must have CDL and 2A Hoisting) - $32.58 (If have CDL, 2A, 4E and 4G will qualify for Heavy Equipment operator)
Responsibilities
- Under the general direction of the DPW Superintendent, the Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of trucks and other equipment
- Operating power mowers, hand driven snow blowers, wood-chippers, power saws and similar equipment
- Responsibilities include driving truck and delivering equipment and supplies to designated areas
- Laborer duties required in road repairs and maintenance of sidewalks
- Performs general maintenance and repair work on equipment and all other related work as required
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays if storms or emergent situations arise
- The anticipated start for this opening is mid July
