Responsibilities •DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Excavating trenches and structures, laying pipe and precast concrete structures, loading trucks and back-filling trenches Placing shoring and trench boxes Operates a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket May also be equipped with various hydraulic attachments (e •hammers, pipe vacuum) Performs daily inspection on equipment for issues and / or deficiencies Completes inspection paperwork daily (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and notifies the Foreman of any issues / defects •Turn in reports to Foreman every day •May assist the crew, when needed, in operating other equipment and / or helping the laborers on the ground Performs other duties as assigned
