Qualifications

•Associate Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology or a Licensed Journeyperson

•Massachusetts Journeyperson Electrician License

•5+ years of electrical construction and motor controls experience

•Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA and ANSI standards

•Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, CMMS software, and basic computer skills

•Ability to work independently, self-directed and be self-motivated

•Ability to present ideas professionally, and in a thoughtful manner

•Ability to communicate effectively, and to work successfully within a team environment

•Ability to be flexible and to prioritize workloads to support production

 

Responsibilities

•Performs a wide range of duties in support of both building and machine electrical systems, as well as physical plant maintenance

•Maintains all equipment and performs scheduled preventative maintenance

•Works within a team environment and supports daily production needs

•Supports snow removal operations in the winter

•Completes all work in adherence to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Electrical Code (NEC), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards

•Completes all work within the company’s determined percentage guidelines for work order completion timelines

•Successfully troubleshoots and solves machine and equipment issues

•Performs duties to design, install, repair, and maintain all electronic and electrical equipment and controls

•Performs a large variety of tests on all electrical systems

•Balances loads and power factors and installs transformers as necessary

•Designs, installs and services HVAC systems, electronic and electrical safety controls

•Works within the company computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) system and provides detailed technical reports and/or descriptions of the work performed

•Performs all aspects of electrical construction and maintenance

•Installs and services power equipment, switchboards, motors, starters, lighting circuits, circuit breakers, AC and DC motor controls

•Calculates wire sizes as needed to prevent overload effectively and safely and to ensure efficient installation

•Services minor crane and hoists, electric trucks, and truck batteries

•Checks battery charges

•Installs, tests and services computer cables as well as installs communication lines

•Stays current with electrical code requirements

•Follows all health and safety rules, regulations and practices

•On-call as required

•Performs other duties as needed or directed

•This position reports into the site every day (5-6 days/week) and must be available for the occasional on-call emergencies, such as, but not limited to, machine repairs and snow removal
