At our facility, we're looking for a Crane Operator. To break apart, remove, and transfer material, the Crane Operator will use a crane equipped with a grapple and drop ball. Slag pit maintenance, including excavating, watering, and temperature monitoring, will be the responsibility of the Crane Operator.

 

Qualifications

•Check the crane and cab, complete out paperwork, operate the crane (4 hand levers, 1 foot brake), and fill steel orders from a 25-foot vertical ladder

•This job will require the use of chainsaws, hammers, tape measure and paint stick markers

•This position necessitates the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination as well as an annual physical examination thereafter in order to ensure that the required level of physical health and ability or fitness to carry out the responsibilities of the position is maintained on an ongoing basis

•A minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy machinery is essential

•Maintain a safe and clean work environment while properly storing and accounting for tools, supplies, and equipment

•It is necessary to have extensive prior experience operating a cab and bridge crane (or a similar) from a height of 30 feet or more and with a span of 60 feet or more.

•Certification by NCCCO or CIC

•Medical card issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT) is valid

•Safety Department, Equipment Manager, or Operations Manager certifications or approvals are required

•Local jurisdiction demands a license (DC requires operators to be licensed)

•Practical exam must be passed

 

 

Responsibilities

•To break apart, remove, and transfer material, the Crane Operator will use a crane equipped with a grapple and drop ball

•Slag pit maintenance, including excavating, watering, and temperature monitoring, will be the responsibility of the Crane Operator

•Through the control panel, you can keep an eye on activities and make modifications to the process

•Perform all responsibilities in line with safety rules and regulations

•Must be able to read and grasp instructions manuals, blueprints, drawings, and specifications, as well as use mathematics to determine load weights, wire, sheaves, and fitting sizes

•When the responsibilities of the Crane Operator have been finished, and the workload for the principal job above has allowed, the work of a Rigger is performed

•The applicant is able to work in all weather conditions, and any concerns are notified immediately

•Executes various duties as directed by superiors or the organization

•Work with riggers and truck drivers to lift objects and other cargo using radio or visual signals and other forms of communication

•Inspects crane for broken parts and notifies supervisor of any defects or problems

•Maintains the cranes and lifting mechanism's cleanliness and functionality

•Understand and follow corporate, customer, and health/safety rules, as well as weight and size standards and any other applicable legislation

•A load can only be moved once all rigging has been secured and loads have been installed, detachable ropes have been removed, and the racks have been returned

 

 

•Salary : $ 27.28 per hour
