The state’s Division of Professional Licensure recommends that you give at least five weeks for them to process your application. Massachusetts gives you a grace period of up to one year after the expiration to renew your license at the same fee. After one year, you must pay an extra $100 to apply for renewal. And if you wait longer than two years, an exam and a new application are required.

Assuming that you have done the work to fulfill your continuing education requirements, submitting your application to renew your license should be reasonably straightforward. These are the things you need to have ready:
